The TPM AC 40 lists the 40 most played songs at Adult Contemporary Radio as reported by ChartWatch Data Services®. It does not distinguish between currents and recurrents. This is due to the nature of the AC format. By utilizing this methodology we are able to more accurately reflect the true strength of currents which receive minimal airplay. When removing recurrents, lesser aired currents often appear to have greater strength than is actually the case. This listing realistically reflects the manner in which Adult Contemporary stations are actually programmed.
