A Special Message to the Radio Industry
"Total Popular Music" is available on a market-exclusive basis. Also, the first large group station owner or operator to sign with us can have exclusive rights in all markets in which it operates stations. Additionally, said large group operator will also have rights of refusal for any stations in other markets.
We have had several dozen requests for our TPM Mass Appeal Hit Music Radio Format – Total Popular Music – from small group owners or mom-and-pop station operators in non-metro market areas. However, virtually all of these requests seek a satellite-delivered format. That is why TPM Chief Mark Harris (President of Mark Harris Broadcast Consulting, a 50-year broadcaster/programmer) is first and foremost seeking a syndicator that can offer this exclusive format via satellite delivery.
Mark believes the two leading contenders for both of the above would be Clear Channel Radio along with Premiere Networks or Cumulus Media with its newly-acquired former Citadel Media networks system. But Mark is open to offers from other distributors of programming, including Dial Global/Westwood One, et al.
Unless simultaneous proposals are received, Harris says, "It's first come, first served."
The TPM format is programmed as currents/recurrents intensive with little (if any) older gold titles – No 80s, No 90s, Just Today! However, there's flexibility to target any specific demo group within the "mass appeal" range of 6-66.
The New Mass Appeal Hit Music Radio Format is able to "steal" listeners from stations in any market that currently offer any/all of the three popular music radio formats – Mainstream CHR-Top40, Hot Adult ("Hot AC" or "Adult Top 40"), and Mainstream AC ("Soft AC" or "Light Rock"). That means the potential for double-digit AQH ratings (PPM or diary) in any rated market area, if properly executed and promoted.
It can be modified for any station and/or market area.
Larger and more loyal audiences spanning all demo groups are possible with "Total Popular Music" ... because: "It's More Contemporary than Adult Contemporary ... Hotter Than Hot AC ... and More Mainstream than Mainstream CHR" – period!
